Andrew D. Pucker
OD, PhD, FAAO, Assistant Professor University of Alabama at Birmingham
Dr. Pucker earned his OD, MS, and PhD degrees from The Ohio State University, and he is currently an Assistant Professor and Chief of the Myopia Control Clinic at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Pucker is the Principal Investigator of a National Eye Institute funded project related to myopia development, and he manages other projects related to refractive error, dry eye, and contact lenses. Dr. Pucker is a Contributing Editor for Contact Lens Spectrum. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and he has received a number of others honors.

Sebastian Marx is ophthalmic optician and was employed at the largest optical chain in Germany. From 2001 till 2005 he studied optometry at the University of Applied Sciences Jena with a break in 2003 when he studied at the State University of Saint Petersburg in Russia. Parallel to his study in Germany he worked in the Netherlands and in Switzerland. After his diploma thesis, which he wrote in Atlanta USA he graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Jena and works since 2005 at the JENVIS Research Institute. He is part time educator at the University of Applied Sciences Jena and member of the German committee of standardisation of contact lenses.

Wolfgang Sickenberger graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Aalen, Germany, in 1989. In 1995 he became head of Professional Services at Ciba Vision, Germany and he was also a part time educator at the Universities of Applied Sciences in Aalen and Jena. He received his Master's degree in Clinical Optometry in 1998 (USA). In 2004 Wolfgang Sickenberger moved to the University of Applied Sciences in Jena, Germany to take up the position of Full Professor of Optometry and Physiological Optics. In 2005 he founded JENVIS Research for clinical studies and research projects.
Lyndon Jones

Lyndon Jones graduated in Optometry from the University of Wales in 1985 and gained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Biomaterials Research Unit at Aston University, Birmingham, UK in 1998. He was awarded an Honorary DSc by Aston in 2018. He was awarded Fellowship of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) in 2017. He holds three of the higher clinical awards granted by the UK College of Optometrists, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), in which he is a Diplomate in Cornea and Contact Lenses, and is also a Fellow of both the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE) and the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA). His research interests primarily focus on the interaction of novel and existing contact lens materials with the ocular environment, dry eye and ocular drug delivery.
Justin Kwan

Justin Kwan, OD, FAAO is a graduate of University of California, Berkeley where he also earned his Doctor of Optometry degree. He then completed a research fellowship and residency at Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) where he was an assistant and then associate professor for seven years. At the University Eye Center, he served as chief of the contact lens service and also directed the dry eye clinic. He specializes and is passionate about dry eye, keratoconus, refractive surgery, orthokeratology, myopia control and multifocal contact lenses. Dr. Kwan is a reviewer for many professional journals and collaborates with optometrists and ophthalmologists in clinical research and professional meetings.
Lisa A Jones Jordan

Lisa Jones-Jordan, MS, PhD, has been a research associate professor in the College of Optometry since 2009, originally joining the College in 1996. She received her MS from the Ohio State University Dept. of Preventive Medicine in 1993, and her PhD from the OSU School of Public Health in 1996. Her areas of concentration were epidemiology, biostatistics and environmental health. She began working with Karla Zadnik, OD PhD, after her graduation. She started working on the Orinda Longitudinal Study of Myopia, which evolved into the Collaborative Longitudinal Evaluation of Ethnicity and Refractive Error, looking at nearsightedness and school-aged children. Currently Dr. Jones is the Director of the Optometry Coordinating Center, where she has worked with several different groups on different subjects in the field of optometry, including children and contact lenses, accomodative esotropia, low vision and overnight orthokeratology.
Daniel R. Powell
OD, MS, PHD, Southern College of Optometry, Memphis, Tennessee
Dr. Daniel Powell, an Associate Professor at SCO, serves as the instructor of record for the Human Anatomy and Physiology (OPT 112, 122) and Neuroanatomy (OPT113) courses. Dr. Powell’s professional and clinical research interests are in the areas of contact lens discomfort and dry eye. He has served as an investigator for industry-sponsored research projects, including Phase II and III FDA clinical trials involving novel dry eye therapies. Dr. Powell is currently an investigator for the multicenter Contact Lens Assessment in Symptomatic Subjects (CLASS) study group, whose aim is to learn more about the importance of ocular surface health and its contribution to contact lens comfort.
Erin Rueff
OD, PhD, FAAO, Assistant Professor - Directory Profile
Dr. Rueff received her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Optometry after completing her undergraduate work at Purdue University. Upon graduation, she completed the Cornea and Contact Lens Advanced Practice Fellowship at OSU. After fellowship, Dr. Rueff continued at OSU as a clinical instructor while concurrently working toward and completing a PhD in Vision Science. Dr. Rueff joined SCCO in 2018 as an assistant professor in the Cornea and Contact Lens Service. She enjoys teaching students in the clinic and classroom on contact lens and general optometry topics. Her clinical interests include multifocals, gas permeable and scleral contact lenses, keratoconus, and dry eye. Dr. Rueff is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
